# How To Get Started > [!abstract] > The entry point for this site: what it is, where to go next, and enough about [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md) to start a vault of your own. ## What this site is You're reading a published [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md) vault, kept by Jeff ([JKJRDev](https://www.jkjrdev.com)). It does two things. It is a **journal** — a daily practice in plain Markdown, published as it is written, gaps and all. And it holds a small set of **notes about using AI carefully**, kept by someone who uses these tools every day and has been burned by them. Most of the prose here was drafted with AI assistance and then read and approved by a person; each AI note says so at the bottom, and the [[Disclaimer]] says exactly what that does and doesn't mean. Create a vault (a main folder for all your notes) 2. Add subfolders to organize by topic, project, or date 3. Write notes in plain text (Markdown for formatting) 4. Link notes together with `[[brackets]]` 5.
